Here are some important questions you must consider and ask when choosing your wedding venue for your big day. Some may seem obvious however emotion can get the better of you whilst discussing your wedding day.
Is it available on my wedding date?
This should be your first question. The last thing you want is to fall in love with a venue, to find it’s fully booked on your wedding day.
What’s your capacity?
Ask for the venue’s minimum and maximum numbers, you want to make sure that you can fit in everyone that you want to be at your wedding!
Are you licensed for weddings?
If you want to get married at the venue, you need to check they are legally licensed for civil ceremonies. Otherwise you will have to arrange the legalities for your wedding elsewhere.
Will ours be the only wedding on the day?
If you want to be the only bride, ask about hiring the venue with exclusive use. Don’t let another bride steal your thunder!
What are the parking options?

Can my friends and family stay overnight?
Does the venue have enough rooms to put up guests for the night? You don’t want your guests leaving early because their overnight accommodation is a distance away.
What are the catering options?
Ask if you can have a tasting of the menu, and make sure to check there are options for gluten intolerant and vegetarian guests.
When does the party have to end?
Is there a curfew or cut-
Another important consideration is noise level issues if considering a live band at your evening reception.
Do you have a corkage fee?
Is there an additional charge if you provide your own alcohol? It is also worth asking the question if you can negotiate the bar prices as some venues pricing is over zealous.
